Valentine’s Day

Another post for you hopeless romantics. I know I’m a little behind on watching ‘Time Traveler’s Wife’, but it’s because I haven’t finished the last 1/3 of the book. I’ll try to review the movie as soon as I go see it.

In the meantime, New line Cinema seems to be releasing a movie called ‘Valentine’s Day’ on, you guessed it, Valentine’s Day. The Cast is big- Julia Roberts, Jamie Foxx, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Jessica Biel, Emma Roberts, Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace.

    Hey Johnny!

So… I thought I would take the opportunity to enlighten you on the art of cinema! πŸ™‚ All kidding aside, it’s great to meet people who are passionate about the art of film and the power it possesses. But I also believe that you have to educate yourself to be able to truly discern the good from the bad. Trust me, a long time ago, I was the same way. But after diving into the brief history of cinema and really watching the classics, foreign films, etc… that’s when I started realize how bad most films are.

I’m not a Hollywood basher by any means. But, as a true fan, and filmmaker/writer myself, I have to be careful of what movies I purchase a ticket for because every time I do… I know I am voting. I am voting for what movies I want to see in the future. Once you become more knowledgeable, you become really good at knowing what films are worth seeing before they even come out.

Here are some films that you MUST see, just to get you started… (I know these may seem “old”, but I promise you, you will become so film literate, and you will understand what makes a good film. You’ll also realize how much new movies steal from them. This is all basic film school stuff. Not just my opinion.) Have fun!
