Yesterday, Tickets to ‘Starwars: The Force Awakens’ went on sale and immediately crashed numerous websites. Yours truly managed to snag an IMAX 3D showing on opening night Dec. 18th, 2015 (2 months out)! Shortly after, the trailer hit the interwebs and hit 200k views in a matter of 20 minutes. Today, it’s been viewed close to 13 MILLION times (10 of those are my contributions). The trailer is below if you haven’t yet watched it. Be prepare to get swept up in all the feels.
My favorite part of Disneyland was always the ‘Star Tours’ ride. However, the recent revamp has left me unsatisfied and a little disappointed..
There is A New Hope! Star Wars Land is coming to Anaheim and Orlando. Over 14 acres each, it’s Disney’s largest single themed land expansion ever. Disney’s goal, “transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”
Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, had this to say:
“I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Iger. “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever. These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
Some concept art after the jump:
Disney unveiled a new Starwars: The Force Awakens poster today at D23 and it look friggin awesome! Check it out after the jump.
So, it’s been a week of ‘post comic con blues’ AND it’s about that time to relive the 5 days that were perhaps the BEST ‘con for this 15 year veteran!
Make sure you bring water! I suggest a double insulated bottle to keep your liquids cool for 24 hours. I was rockin my new S’well bottle this year. Definitely helpful for those long waits in the Hall H line!
Pack light, bring a day bag, and buy snacks! Convention food isn’t always the greatest, but having your choice snacks with you could hold you over till you reach real sustenance.
Traveling by land, sea, or air? The view from the train down to San Diego is quite gorgeous.
FINALLY!!!!! Scoring a hotel at SDCC is an impossible task.. But if you’re lucky, the luxury of staying in gaslamp allows you to quickly recharge (Gadgets and Body), unload (Swag and Bowels), shower, and sleep.
Check in, drop your luggage, explore gaslamp, grab a beer/ ‘fish and chips’ at the Tin Fish (Annual Tradition), and swing by the convention center to pick up your badge.
Up Next: Preview Night!
As you might have heard, the new X-men trailer released this morning and it is trending like wildfire all over social media. This year at San Diego’s Comic Con, if you were fortunate to have slept out in the Hall H line- you were treated to a very similar trailer. I’m excited to see what you all think. I’ve been a gamer since I was a kid. I was very lucky to have owned the ps1, ps2, ps3, and soon the ps4. I also had NES, Genesis, N64, Gameboy (Original, Color, and Advance), Neogeo and the PSP Slim. My little brother had the Nintendo Gamecube and the Gameboy Advance SP. This video brings back so many memories but it also makes me feel incredibly OLD! What were some of your fondest memories playing games growing up?
